Dear fellow activist,
Today, Google is releasing their Moto X phone, a product so incredibly important to Google's brand and future profitability they've dubbed it their “hero phone.” They're spending $500 million advertising for their new phone, courting New York City's journalists, and throwing an exclusive-invite party in Chelsea to generate social media buzz with the tag #MeetMotoX. This launch is a key moment for Google. So it's a powerful opportunity for us to tell the world Google is funding climate villains!
If enough of us get on social media today, we can hijack the #MeetMotoX conversation to ensure millions of people — including influential tech thoughtleaders — know that Google's smart phones are financing stupid politics.

Every week we're making progress in getting the news out that Google is financing liars.
On July 11, we brought our 10,000-signature petition to Google's DC office during their fundraiser for Sen. Jim Inhofe, but the Google receptionist there refused to accept it. On July 24, Silicon Valley climate activists were inspired to organize a protest at Google's Mountain View headquarters. We joined them and talked with Google employees as they went to work. Several told us that they're “ashamed” and “disappointed” with their company's political hypocrisy. CREDO members like you made hundeds of phone calls to Google, clogging up their corporate and press phone lines all day. I was escorted by a Google security guard to hand-deliver our 50,000-signature petition, but the receptionist there refused to accept it.
And I'm excited to announce that the corporate accountability group SumOfUs.org has sent out the message globally, bringing our petition to over 150,000 signers!
Google is selling the Moto X with a patriotic “designed, engineered, & assembled in US” message, but the company is financing corrupt and deceitful politics. We know Google can be better than this. Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin set out to create a different kind of corporation, based on the motto “don't be evil.” It's time to let Larry Page know he needs to admit they've made a mistake and pledge to stop funding climate denial.
