Help The Environment.View email in web browser. Don't Make Polar Bears Pay For Our Oil
The Arctic Ocean is one of the least understood ecosystems on Earth. Polar bears and other animals living in this region are already suffering from the negative impacts of climate change. Without knowing how these Arctic ecosystems may be impacted by offshore oil drilling, it would be foolish to give companies permission to drill within this already precarious habitat.
With the failures of Shell Oil's drilling last year looming over us, we must be more cautious in approaching offshore drilling. Tell Secretary of the Interior, Sally Jewell, that instead of rushing forward and putting rigs into these sensitive waters we need to first assess the inherent dangers of such a plan.
